Canyon Truth Snow is a Costume Designer, Crafts artisan and Fine Artist located in Chicago, Illinois. Before moving to Chicago, Edward lived in Utah where he spent a lot of time on the Colorado Plateau gathering Insperation and creating artwork based on the natural environment and his experiences growing up on his family’s horse and cattle farm in the last stages of the Wild West.
Edward attended Weber State Univeristy from 2014 to 2019 pursuing a B.A. in Design Tech Management with an emphasis in Costume Design and Costume Crafts, and a minor in Fine Art. While attending Weber, Edward was awarded many regional and national wards for his Artistic and Scholarly merit, including the National Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival award for Outstanding Costume Design for The Cripple of Inishmaan in 2019. Edward graduated with Honors, and was awarded the Outstanding Researcher award for the college of Arts and Humanities in 2019.
From 2019-2020 Edward attended graduate school at California State University Fullerton pursuing his MFA in Costume Design. While attending, Edward was awarded the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival “Heart of the Art” award for his millinery design for Sunday in the Park With George, as well as the College of the Arts Outstanding Student Scholarly and Creative Activities Award for the College of the Arts.
In addition to Costume Design and Crafts, Edward loves to create art based on the high desert Colorado Plateau where he grew up. His work “Ghostie” was published in the L.Q. Magazine in Ogden, Utah, and his site specific instillation art “Epolouge” was featured in the Weber State Alumni Magazine. The deserts highly saturated colors, repeated lines, and distinct shapes often make appearances in some way in his work.
Edward was formerly known as Toria Snow and Edward Snow
